Weekly Centre Meets

Our Centre meets are conducted at Jack Cook Park.  The Field Map identifies where events are held on Jack Cook Park and also provides information regarding where supporters/parents are allowed due to COVID-19.

Athletes take part in a scheduled program of five events (two field, usually three track; possibly some games or fitness circuits for the younger age groups) proceeding from event to event in the charge of Age Marshals.

The season calendar is a selection of key shield meets, competitions and events that the club hosts and encourages members to support.  There is no requirement for athletes to register for these meets.  Just turn up on the day and have fun!

The successful operation of our Centre meets relies on parents/carers pitching in and helping out. We need between 70 and 90 adult volunteers each week to ensure our meet runs smoothly and safely.  There are a variety of roles, so if you are new/unsure, please come and talk to Barbara Maenhaut (Officials Coordinator) or Trudy Lennox (Centre Manger) just prior to the meet and we will endeavour to find a role that you are comfortable with.

Each week our Centre Manager will send out an email about the upcoming meet/events/news.  In this email there will be a link to enable you to register for a volunteer role.

When you arrive at the meet, please mark your name off at the Officials Coordinators desk located under the tent adjacent to the clubhouse.  This is to ensure we have a record of your assistance as the family deposit portion of your fee is refunded at the end of the season if you assist 12 times, however we do encourage and need more assistance if possible. The best reward you’ll get is being involved in the same activities as your kids and their friends!

If you did not pre register for a volunteer role, you are still able to sign up for one when you arrive.  Please go to the Officials Coordinators desk to see what roles are vacant.
