Types of Meets
These meets are the ’bread-and-butter’ of Little Athletics and our Centre meets are conducted at Jack Cook Park.
Athletes take part in a tightly scheduled program of five events (two field, usually three track; possibly some games or fitness circuits for the younger age groups) proceeding from event to event in the charge of Age Marshals.
Please refer to our Season Calendar for dates/times of these meets. Throughout the season, each week's program and the ability to signup for a volunteer role will also be available under the Season Calendar section.
Queensland Athletics (QA) Events
Toowong Harriers is a Queensland Athletics (QA) club and participates in QA Shield meets over the Summer Season and QA Cross Country events over the Winter Season.
All QA registered athletes aged 12 and up, as at 31 December 2020 (born 2009 or earlier) from all QA clubs are eligible to compete at each meet in the series and earn points for their club. Interstate athletes registered with their AA state association may also participate but will not score points.
At the QA Shield meets, athletes will earn points for their club simply by competing in each meet in the series. After each meet, clubs will receive points for the place they achieved at the meet which will be collated into a series leader board. The top club on the leader board at the conclusion of the series will be crowned the QA Champion Club.
