Days – Sunday

Coaches – Sprints, distance, long jump, triple jump

What was your favourite sport as a kid? - Athletics was always my favourite. Long Jump and High Jump and Sprints. Played Cricket every weekend during school.

What is your highest sporting achievement? - Winning the first ever Athletics Australia All Schools Long Jump in 1974 in Melbourne. 18 years – 7.01m.

What do you do to calm your butterflies while you compete? - I was pretty hopeless as a young athlete but these days as a coach I have developed “The Seven Psychological Steps to Success”. I teach this to athletes I coach.

What do you love about coaching young athletes? - Absolutely love finding a new talent and nurturing them over a period of time. Watching them develop and succeed at any level. Biggest thrill is taking an unknown athlete and cheering them on into a place at National level.

What is your favourite ice cream flavour? - Vanilla.

What is your dream holiday destination? - Byron Bay every day.

What is your one piece of advice for a young athlete?- Follow your dreams as an athlete. Be passionate. But it is not ALL ABOUT YOU. Develop friendships. Support others. Thank your coaches, parents, officials and everyone around you that supports you and the wonderful Sport of Athletics. Be thankful for your abilities and the opportunities that Athletics gives you to have great fun, success and relationships.
